Sharon Gaskins is a seasoned senior executive who brings over 25 years of experience leading transformation efforts in school districts, local and state governments, and non-profit organizations. She has served as an organization leader, a trusted adviser to senior public officials, and a coach and consultant to public and non-profit leaders.
Sharon is a strategic leader who has successfully built teams that achieve measurable results for the communities they serve. As Deputy Education Officer for Mayor Michael Nutter, Sharon coordinated Philadelphia’s successful advocacy for increased state funding, leading to $51 million in additional funds for the district and the adoption of a new school funding formula. As a leader in the District of Columbia’s state education agency and school district, she executed initiatives that improved education outcomes for at-risk students and students with disabilities, including a program that led to math and reading gains for students in D.C.’s lowest performing schools. She also led multiple efforts to safely bring students and educators back into classrooms during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
